Funeral services honoring the life of Warren A. Ramsay, Jr. 80, will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 24, 2009 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Blakely. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23^rd.

    Mr. Ramsay was born on November 9, 1928, in Fordyce, Arkansas, to Warren A. Ramsay, Sr. and Nora Carter Ramsay.  He passed away on June 21, 2009, in Shreveport, after enduring ongoing complications from an accident.  Mr. Ramsay was a retired businessman and member of Mangum United Methodist Church.  He graduated from Henderson High School before going on to play football for Kilgore Jr. College and the University of Houston.  He was a passionate fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. 

   Mr. Ramsay leaves many friends from his 30-plus years at Guiberson and Dresser Industries, his commitment to Friendship Academy in the 70’s, and his church membership.  Warren was a loyal family man and the loss of his beloved wife Wanda in October, after 56 years of marriage, greatly served to break his spirit.

  Mr. Ramsay is preceded in death by his wife Wanda, his parents, and his sister Louise Baresch.  He is survived by daughters, Robin Ann Ramsay and Lisa Jane Ramsay Boose and husband Donnie; sister Mary Reich; brother Jack K. Ramsay; grandchildren Michael Brandon Boose and Jason Edward Boose, and great-grandson Tate Allen Boose.

   Pallbearers will be Dave Culbertson, Dommie Lawless, A.C. Looney, Le Darby Salter, Bill Steele, and Tom Watson.

   A special thanks goes out to Dr. James Jackson for his excellent care and devotion.
