| SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Starling Carrall Green, Jr. (S.C.) died at 5:10 a.m. at Highland Christus Schumpert Hospital on Friday, August 29, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Monday, September 1, 2008, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prayer service to follow. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church, 522 East Flournoy-Lucas Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Philip Michiels. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Mr. Green was born in Forman, Arkansas, on August 7, 1935. He was a resident of Shreveport for the last 53 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church, past member of Marian Council of the Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Lowe-McFarlane Post 14. Mr. Green retired from the SAIA Motor Freight Line in 1998 after 25 years of service. He previously worked as the store manager at the Piggly Wiggly Supermarket on West 70th. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lily Digiovanni Green; son, Daniel Nick Green and wife, Lea; and daughter, Paula Carol Green; his granddaughters, Catherine and Elizabeth Green; sister, Dorla Sullivan; and brother, Silvester Green and wife, Geneva; and numerous nieces and nephews from Texarkana, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Starling C. Green and mother, Lonnie Green, three sisters and two brothers. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Doctor William S.
