Funeral services for Samuel R. Gamble, 67, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Drive. Officiating will be Brother Roger Morton. Interment will be at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA.

     The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the funeral home.

     Sam was born May 31, 1941 in Grand Cane, LA to Ashton Gamble and Mary Gamble Hall. He passed away April 21, 2009 in Shreveport. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann Trimble Gamble; son, Leslie Wayne Gamble and wife Calia; sisters, Rose Mary Harris and husband Jackie and Rita Toupin and husband Gary; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Harris, Bill Madison, O.L. Lincoln and Henry McGee.

     Mr. Gamble’s family appreciates the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassionate care during Mr. Gamble’s illness.  The Gamble family also expresses their appreciation to our “special” aides at Garden Park Nursing Home for their personal attention to Mr. Gamble’s care.
