Funeral services celebrating the life of Sallie Willis, 93, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Step Martin. Interment will follow in Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the funeral home.

    Sallie was born in Kurthwood, LA on October 18, 1915 to Joel and Annie Watts. She passed away on June 1, 2009 in Shreveport, where she was a resident and seamstress. Sallie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of DAR.

    Preceding her in death were her parents. She is survived by her son, Charlie Johns, and wife, Shirley; grandsons, John Roy Johns and wife, Terry, and Joel E. Johns and wife, Sherrie; great-grand children, Cynthia, Tyler and Lesley Johns.
