Funeral services for Ronald Devoy Nix, 62, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Summer Grove Baptist Church.  Dr. Rod Masteller and Dr. Murray Hodge will officiate. Interment will follow at Laran Cemetery in Laran, LA.

     The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Drive.

     Mr. Nix was born April 7, 1947, in Shreveport, LA to Devoy and Lucille Nix. He went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 28, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a loving and devoted husband for 41 years, a “perfect” dad to his two wonderful daughters and the best papaw to three special grandsons. He worked in the sheet metal/roofing business for 44 years. Ronnie was a devoted man of God, member of Summer Grove Baptist Church, and served as a deacon for many years.

     He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mary McAdams Nix; daughters, Angela Nix Riser and husband Tracy and April Nix Johnson and husband Brandon; three grandsons, Caleb Riser, Carson Riser and Grant Johnson; and brother Randy Nix and wife Julie.

     Pallbearers will be his brother-in-laws: Bobby, Joey, James, Kenneth, Ernest, Larry and Scott McAdams.

     Special thanks to Dr. Liu, Dr. Nickelson, Dr. Nanda, Dr. Marler as well as the nurses and staff at WKP and the Grace Home.
