Funeral services for Richard Griffin, 51, of Marshall will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2008 at The Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Warbington officiating. Interment will be in Algoma Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at the funeral Home.

Mr. Griffin passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008 in Marshall. He was born February 3, 1957 in Nacogdoches, TX to Dorothy Janette Smith and Harold DeShon Griffin. He married Toni on January 7, 1983 in Jefferson. Mr. Griffin served in the US Navy, and retired as Senior Heavy Equipment Operator from Harrison County Road and Bridge. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Toni Griffin, of Marshall; three children, Aquisha Griffin, Venita Griffin Sandlin and husband Tony, and David Griffin, all of Marshall; six grandchildren, Destini Griffin, Kyshunna Warren, Nikole Kathii, Cheynne Sandlin, Jordan Sandlin, and Chase Sandlin; and one sister, Sandra Griffin Woods.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Tew, Nicholas Allen, Jeff Davidson, Mark Mathis, Luke Davis, and Joe Craver. Alternate pallbearers will be Tony Sandlin, Billy Carver, L.C. Tew, and James A. Henson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Griffin and Janette Smith; one sister, Barbara Harris; and one brother, David Eugene Griffin.
