A Funeral Mass will be said for Odis Ledford Caldwell, 80, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Monsignor Carson LaCaze will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Park St. Vincent.
The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside Monday, August 25, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer vigil and Rosary service will follow the visitation.
Mr. Caldwell was born December 22, 1927 in Taylor, AR to Jodie and Emma Caldwell. He passed away August 21, 2008 in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Caldwell retired from the Shreveport Police Department after 28 years of service after attaining the rank of Captain. He was a charter member and past president of the Huckabay Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the Army Air Corps and received a WWII Victory Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie and Emma Caldwell and his wife of 56 years, Jean Gillespie Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his sons, Odis Wayne Caldwell and wife Janet, Carlin Wade Caldwell and wife Donna; his daughters, Lynda Caldwell Lucas and husband Michael, and Brenda Smith Rosales and husband Pete; his grandchildren, Christy Lawler, Brian Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell, Justin Rosales, Eric Lucas, Adam Lucas, Joshua Rosales, Tiffany Caldwell, Jason Lucas, and six great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Caldwell’s grandsons Brandon Caldwell, Brian Caldwell, Eric Lucas, Adam Lucas, Justin Rosales and Joshua Rosales. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Lucas and Randy Lawler
