Funeral services celebrating the life of Nadine Porter Sims, 91, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday May 6, 2009 at Rose-Neath’ Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Trey Lewis. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

    Nadine was born on May 3, 1918 in Winnfield, LA to Hezekiah and Bertha Lee Porter. She passed away May 4, 2009. Nadine was a resident of Shreveport where she was a retired school teacher from the Caddo Parish School Board and a member of Kingston Road Baptist Church.

    Preceding Nadine in death was her beloved husband, Schallie Sims, Sr. She is survived by her son, Ed Sims and wife, Lily; brother, Rand Porter, Grandchildren, Jamie Boone and husband, Ronnie and Tra Sims and wife, Charity; great-grandchildren, Amber, Melinda, Alisha, Hope, Faith, Jesse, Kelly and Justin.

    Pallbearers will be Deacons of Kingston Road Baptist Church.
