SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Ruth E. Price, 84, passed away at LifeCare on Thursday, September 04, 2008, after a brief illness. Memorial services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6^th, in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Murry Hodge of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Price was a native of Valliant, OK and a resident of Shreveport for 46 years. She was an outstanding basketball player and coach in Oklahoma in her earlier years, and still loved to watch women’s basketball on TV, as well as tennis. She loved gardening, playing cards and cooking for her loved ones.Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Jerry O. Price; one daughter, Wanda Ward and her husband, Ray, of Gulf Breeze, FL; two sons, Gary Price and his wife, Lisa, of Dallas, TX and David Price, of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Lisa Rucker and her husband, Matt, of Bristow, VA, Kristen Price, of Dallas, TX, Michael Price, of Dallas, TX and Emily Price, of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Sarah Niles, of Sawyer, OK and Sue Smith, of Marvel, TX; and one brother, Robert Pitts, of Midwest City, OK. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
