Funeral services for Mgst. (retired) Gary C. Champagne, 41, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at American Legion #14.  Officiating will be Chaplain Carl Barr.  Interment will follow in NW LA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA.  Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel.

     Gary was born in Taunton, MA on April 22, 1968.  He passed away on January 21, 2010 in Shreveport.  He served for 20 ½ years in the USAF in Barksdale.  Gary was a very talented carpenter by trade.  He worked on many of the movie sets that were filmed in the Arklatex.  He was a member of the Motion Picture Studio Mechanics, Local 478.  His passion was riding his Harley and making memories with friends.  Gary always had a smile on his face, and he will be missed by the many friends that he made around the world.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Ruby Champagne; daughters, Nicole Champagne and Angela Gonzales of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Tristin Roquemore; parents, Mike and Carol Champagne of Punta Gorda, FL; sister, Robyn Burnett of Punta Gorda, FL; brother, David M. Champagne of Taunta, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

     Pallbearers will be Robert Flores, David Champagne, Jerry Howell, Pete Terry, Todd Neal, and Chris Green.
