BOSSIER CITY, LA-Marie Means, 84, of Bossier City passed away on September 2, 2008 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel with Monsignor Carson J. LaCaze officiating, assisted by Rev. Billy Pierce. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Mrs. Means was born in Shreveport, LA and was a resident of Bossier City, LA. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters Society. She retired from Barksdale AFB after over 25 years as a faithful civil servant.
Her parents, Cheatum and Amelia Spataro and husband, William H. Means, Sr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Crain and husband Rudy of Benton, LA; son, William H. Means, Jr. and wife Denisa of Bossier City and their children, Anastasia Marie, William Rance and Noble Javier; adopted son, Joe McNeely of Houston, TX; brothers, Sam, T.J. and Bubba Spataro and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Mrs. Means as pallbearers will be Jeff Crain, Johnny LeGrand, Tommy Hancock, Ricky Spataro, Bo Spataro, Brad Cummings, Edwin Rance, Jr. and David Carmical.
Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Sam, T.J. and Bubba Spataro.
The family would like to thank the staff at Garden Court Nursing Home and a special thank you to the Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and guidance.
