Lyle A. "Doc" Wibben

 

    Graveside services for Lyle A. Wibben, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Perry Culver and Rev. Michael Welmer. A memorial service, celebrating his life, will be held immediately afterwards, at the Christ Lutheran Church, LC-MS.

    Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 12, 2009, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.

    Mr. Wibben was born in Abbotsford, WI, March 30, 1928, to Nicholas and Emma Wibben. He passed away June 10, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Shreveport and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where he was a very active member. He loved singing in the choir and with the Barber Shop Chapter. He was retired after 33 years, from Bell South, as Central Office Forman. Lyle served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven siblings. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Patsy ErvinWibben; mother- in- law, Aline Ervin; son Nick and wife Gayle; daughter Jill Welmer and husband, Reverend Michael Welmer; Kelly Brennen and husband, Edward; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers will be Ed Brennen, Dwayne Wibben, Eric Wibben, Tom Erwin, and Patrick Welmer. Honorary pallbearer, Donald Welmer
