Funeral services celebrating the life of Julian Inez Snelson, 91, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Raymond Cox. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Snelson was born on August 7, 1917 in Bossier City, LA to Clarence and Helian Heflin. She passed away on April 26, 2009 in Shreveport, LA where she was a resident and member of Pinecroft Baptist Church.

      Preceding Mrs. Snelson in death were her parents, her beloved husband, Jack Snelson, two brothers, and one sister. Left to cherish her memory is son, Samuel Snelson and wife, Young; daughters, Barbara Cox and husband, Rev. Raymond Cox, Jackie Whitehead and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Darren Whitehead and wife, Cindy, Jason Whitehead, Robert Cox and wife, Sonya Selivanoff, Michael Cox and wife, Jill, Cheryl Cox Nifong and husband, Richard; great-grandchildren, Hilary and Mitchell Whitehead, Casey and Naomi Cox, Trinity and Zoey Nifong; sister, Rebecca Reese.

    Memorials may be made to Pinecroft Baptist Church.
