| Hazel Ensminger Marlar passed away peacefully on December 31, 2009 at Pikes Peak Care Center, Colorado Springs, CO. She was born on February 23, 1936 to Edith Whitmeyer Ensminger Riner in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son Kenneth James. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Davis Marlar, Sr of Colorado Springs; Son, George Davis Marlar, Jr and wife, Ellie, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Melva Dupree and husband, Jerry, of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren, Helen, Heather, Phillip, Davis and James; sisters, Patricia Davenport of Haltom City, TX and Tommye Jo Price of Jena, LA. Hazel and George were married on June 1, 1958 in Shreveport, LA. She attended Alexander Elementary, and graduated Bossier High School in 1954. She worked for Bell Telephone Co in Shreveport, before moving to Memphis, TN. Hazel and George spent 23 years in Brandon, MS before moving to Colorado Springs in 2004. She enjoyed playing bunko, dominos, and card games. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday January 8, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside followed by graveside service at Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
