Funeral services for George Lynn Woods, 67, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Griffith. Interment will follow in Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at the funeral home.
George of Shreveport, LA passed away on January 19, 2010 at his home after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Quitman, TX on May 1, 1942 to Aaron Woods and Alice Tucker Woods. He was a retired car salesman. George was a loving and devoted father.
Preceding George in death were his parents, his sister, Connie Wood and brother, W.A. Woods. Left to cherish his memory is sons, Cliffton M. Woods and Chad B. Woods; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Woods; grandsons, Austin Zachary Woods and Joseph Bryant Woods; sisters, Dorothy Barnett, Alice Marie Fuentes and Glenda Smith; brother, Willard Woods.
Pallbearers will be Lance Cox, Harvey Burford, Frank Leone, Phillip May, Kelly Hardin, Earl Underwood, Wayne Vines and Terry Rogers.
