BOSSIER CITY, LA-Services for Edwin Rance, Sr., 83, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. Donald Hicks officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA.  Visitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Mr. Rance was born January 20, 1925 in Edgemont, AR to Regger and Clara Gleason Rance and died November 16, 2008 at Promise Hospital in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired electronics technician.  Born an inventor with a gentle soul and a carefree zest for life, he will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind hearted, good natured, eccentric man who took advantage of every opportunity to spread the word of God.  He will be missed beyond words.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laura Rance of Bossier City, LA; son, Edwin Rance, Jr. of Benton, LA; daughters, Elisa Schroeder and husband Andy of Southlake, TX, Denisa Means and husband Billy of Bossier City, LA; Clara Elaine Rance of Benton, LA, Alicia Gail Williams and husband Steve of DeBerry, TX; brother, Regger Wesley Rance and wife Annie Lou of Blanchard, LA and 11 grandchildren.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be Jimmy Nix, Charles Rodgers, Lee Knowles, Donald Vishnefski, Robert Carroll and Kevin Cox.
