Services celebrating the life of Edna Mae Davis, 77, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Drive. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Hedspeth. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.

     The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Davis was born March 9, 1932 in Marion, LA to John and Carrie Gilbert. She went to be with her Lord, June 2, 2009, in Shreveport, after a brief illness. Edna was a wonderful wife, mother and a very caring and loving lady. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Kings Temple Pentecostal Church. She read her Bible daily and read it in its entirety several times. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

     She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Gilbert, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Henry Don Davis; sons, Kenneth W. Davis and wife, Cheryl and Rodney Don Davis; daughter, Suzanne Scriber and husband, Don; sister, Gladys Mangum; brother, Charles Sykes and wife, Syble; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

     Pallbearers will be Justin Davis, Danny Reaves, Brandon Temple and Dakota Temple.
