Shreveport, LA –Dorothy Jane Downing Hardwick, 87, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in Shreveport, LA after a short illness. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5^th, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Tom Harrison of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.Mrs. Hardwick was born on June 23, 1921, in Gary, TX to Corbett Downing and Fannie Mae DuBose Downing. She was a member of Willow Point Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother.Mrs. Hardwick was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Julian Hardwick, Jr.; parents; and her brother, Corbett Winifred Downing, Sr. She is survived by her three children, son, Julian Wayne Hardwick and wife, Roberta,  of Metairie, LA, son, Robert Donald Hardwick, of Baton Rouge, LA and Betty Jane Hardwick Clontz and husband, Bill, of Rockville, IN; four grandchildren, Brandon Shayne Viavant, of Cary, NC, Scott Julian Hardwick, of Shreveport, LA, Craig Christopher Hardwick, of AR and Rhonda Ann Hardwick Velich and husband, Mark and their son, Cody Allen Julian Velich, all of  Kenner, LA.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana.OSBORNFUNERALHOME.NET318-865-8426
