Funeral services celebrating the life of Dorothy L. Coleman, 86, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Bill Kincaid. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born on July 31, 1922 in Alexandria, LA to James H. and Minnie Lee French. She passed away on April 22, 2009 in Shreveport, where she was a resident and retired owner of Happy Day Nursery.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Freeman Coleman, son, Tony Coleman, her parents, and brother, Norvel French. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Doug Torrey his wife, Kathy of Dallas, TX, Billy Coleman his wife, Connie of Benton, LA, and Rodney Coleman of Shreveport, LA; brother, J.D. French of Baton Rouge, LA; nine grandchildren, Cindy Daher, Roxanne McDonald, Pam Hawley, Kenny Coleman, James Torrey, Angie Glover, Summer Coleman, Beth Torrey, Kady Coleman and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
