BOSSIER CITY, LA-Charles Pinckney Brigham, Sr., 75, passed away on August 10, 2008 in Bossier City. A Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at St. Jude Catholic Church, with Father Pike Thomas, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 5-7 p.m., with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Mr. Brigham was born December 20, 1932 in Shreveport, LA. A graduate of Bossier High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War where he was chosen to compete in several U.S. Air Force Far East competitions and came away with 1st and 2nd place honors. Upon returning home, he began his career with Ralston Purina and continued until his retirement in 1995 after 40 years with the company. He was also a landowner, hay farmer and raised pigs and cattle. Mr. Brigham married the love of his life, Marie Dorothy Santoro on September 18, 1954 and enjoyed 53 wonderful years together. After 10 years of marriage, they welcomed their son, Charles Pinckney Brigham, Jr.
His father, Pinckney Brigham; mother, Dorothy Birmingham and sisters, Dorothy Hill, Gloria Kauffman and Gloria Jean preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Dr. Charles Brigham and wife, Dr. Allison Brigham; his grandson, Martin Coatsworth Brigham and brother, Howard Brigham and wife Louise.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Scott McGuire, Michael Santoro, Michael Brock, Al Daley, Denny Allen and grandson, Martin Brigham. Honorary pallbearers will be Huey Humphrey, Earl Humphrey, Bill Hearne, Norman Lewis, Pete Hearne and K.K. “Wes” Westmoreland.
