Carolyn Gay House, precious mother, beloved grandmother and faithful friend of all who knew her, went to be with her Lord on January 14, 2010 with her family by her side. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, Louisiana Sunday, January 17 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. Service will be held Monday January 18 at 10:00 A.M. at the Shreveport Pentecostals in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Greer. Assisting will be Rev. Adam Dozier. Graveside service will follow at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport.
Carolyn was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on February 20, 1944. She was a graduate of Fair Park High School. In 1999, after 25 years of employment, she retired from Montgomery Wards. After retiring she was able to spend even more time with the church where she was a dedicated member for 53 years. She was an active board member, secretary, a talented organ player and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Timothy William Lovell and Arlie Marie Lovell. She is survived by her two sons and stepdaughter. James and wife Bonnie of Keithville, LA, Mike and wife Cindy of Dayton, OH, and Angela and husband Randall Sutherland of Henderson, KY. She leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren Cody House, Ian and Marie House, Valerie Swartz, Jennifer and James Jeck, Steven Eleftheratos and Lauren and Jacob Watson. Younger Brothers, Dennis of Hawaii, Gary and wife Shelia of West Monroe, LA, Toby and wife Pam of Bossier City, LA. And her younger sister Dianne and husband Gordan Garcie of Shreveport, LA. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and family members. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Cody House, Tim Lovell, Jeff Lovell, Brad Lovell, Jacob Watson and Red Rusin
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Shreveport Pentecostals, 3001 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, the church she was so lovingly dedicated to for 53 years.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to dear friends Sylvia Orr and Francis Simmons. And also to The Guest House nursing home for their loving care and to the staff for their caring treatment in the time preceding her death.
