Ann Aromile Allen Priest

SHREVEPORT, LA – Mrs. Ann Priest, age 87, of Shreveport, LA., passed away on August 13, 2008 at Willis-Knighton South.  She was born on April 9, 1921 to Willis P. and Susie Allen in Pleasant Hill, LA.

 Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Rose-Neath Southside. Officiating will be Dr. Step Martin and Mr. Ernie Fegley. Interment will be in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

            Mrs. Priest worked for many years as a private Healthcare Sitter for elderly and terminally ill patients.  A devout Christian, Mrs. Priest was an enthusiastic member of Calvary Baptist Church.  She regarded her Sunday School class, led by Mr. Ernie Fegley, as her brothers and sisters in Christ.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Beulah and brothers Elton, J. B., John and Woodrow.

            Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 49 years, Mr. Dominick Priest of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Shirley Mitchell Nelson and husband Frank of Lake Charles, LA and Dianne Priest Martin and husband Craig of Bay St. Louis, MS; three sons, Aubrey Mitchell and wife Rosa of Elberta, AL; Thurman Byles and wife Paula of Austin, TX and Eudis Byles of St. Francisville, LA; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dorice Priest Tucker; two sisters, Helen Rigdon and husband A. C. of Shreveport, LA and Ellen Edwards of Harrisburg, AR; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

            Pallbearers will be Mitch Mitchell, Mike Nelson, Craig Martin, Mark Byles, John Hampson, and Ray Allen.

            The family would like to express their great appreciation to Drs. Moore, Nichols, Sastry and the ICU staff of Willis-Knighton Medical Center for the kind and loving care they gave to Ann.
